Here's what nobody mentions at the dealership: everything Sport and above is pickup-only, and a pickup tub has no flat guard face behind the rear wheels. Those factory "flaps" are arch-liner mouldings, not actual flaps. So sized flaps are out — tub Rangers run the Flappie Frame: 300mm wide, adjustable 205–255mm drop, hangs off the body. $100 a pair for frames, $110 for a printed frame-cut set, and every future design swap takes minutes instead of a socket set.
The Raptor earns its own sentence. Wide track, composite flares, 33s from the factory — and factory mud flaps that sit noticeably narrow of the tyre face. There's a whole aftermarket built on fixing exactly that. Frames hang off the body rather than the flare, but with that much rig going on, flick us a photo before ordering and we'll confirm placement.
XL and XLT tray-backs — the honest sizing game
Cab-chassis Rangers — single, super or double cab — wear a dealer or builder tray, and the flap bolts flat inside the tray guard. Sizing: 4x2, 235×255mm, $90 a set. 4x4 on stock tyres: 270×300mm on steel or factory guards, 300×280mm on alloy builds — $115 either way. On 33s and up: 300×350mm steel ($145) or 350×450mm alloy ($225).
Works the same on a PX as a next-gen — the flap fits the tray, not the model year. A Ford accessory tray runs standard-width guards; a custom build runs whatever came off the jig that day. Sixty seconds with a tape measure inside the guard ends every argument before it starts.
Raptors and anything wearing flares: the extra width and cladding change where a frame can sit, so photo-check before you order rather than after the courier's been. And if your factory flaps already look 20mm short of the tyre — that's not your imagination, that's the spec. Send us a photo and we'll sort it before money moves.

Do Flappies fit a Ranger Raptor?+
Yes — via Flappie Frames (300mm wide, 205–255mm adjustable drop). The Raptor's tub and flares have no flat guard face for a bolt-in flap, and its factory flaps are famously narrow for the wide track. 4x4 on stock tyres: 270×300mm on steel/factory tray guards or 300×280mm on alloy builds ($115). 4x2: 235×255mm ($90). On 33s and up: 300×350mm ($145) or 350×450mm ($225). Measure inside the guard — custom trays vary.
Are mud flaps required on a tray-back Ranger?+
Effective wheelguards are required on every wheel, and on tray-backs the flap usually completes the system. WA guidance puts the lowest edge around 230mm off the ground (300mm for off-road builds). Check your state's rules — we print flaps, not legislation.
