"There aren't any — I made my own." You don't have to

Ask an Amarok owners group what wider mud flaps fit the new-gen ute and the top answer is, word for word, that there aren't any — the bloke ended up manufacturing his own. The 2023+ Amarok has next to nothing dedicated in the flap aftermarket, and the genuine VW bits are small arch mouldings sold as dealer accessories.

Here's the workaround that isn't a workaround: the Amarok's a dual-cab tub, and tubs run the Flappie Frame — 300mm wide, adjustable 205–255mm drop, hanging off the body so it doesn't need a variant-specific mould to exist. Frames are $100 a pair, printed frame-cut sets $110, and designs swap in minutes once the frames are on. Fits the day the ute does.

Old-school 2H single cab with a tray? Different tool, same shop

The first-gen Amarok (2010–2022) sold a single cab-chassis alongside the dual cabs, so tray-back Amaroks are out there earning a living. Trays take sized flaps bolted inside the guard: 4x2, 235×255mm, $90 a set. 4x4 on stock tyres: 270×300mm for steel or factory guards, 300×280mm for alloy trays — $115 either way. On 33s or bigger: 300×350mm steel ($145) or 350×450mm alloy ($225).

And a nugget for the platform nerds: the 2023+ Amarok is built on the Ranger's bones. Same skeleton, same tub, same answer — frames on either badge.

Fair warning from the Amarok crowd

Running wider rubber on a new-gen? The owners-group threads confirm nothing off the shelf covers it — that's exactly the gap the frame's adjustable drop fills, and a printed frame-cut flap gives you the width the factory mouldings never had. Tray owners: alloy trays vary build to build, so measure inside the guard before ordering. Unsure? Send us a photo.

Right, now the fun part

No more waiting for someone to tool up a mould for your generation — frames fit now, trays get measured cuts. Pick the design and you're done.

Amarok questions, answered

Do Flappies fit the new (2023+) Amarok?+

Yes — it's a tub, so the Flappie Frame (300mm wide, 205–255mm adjustable drop, $100 a pair) hangs off the body and fits regardless of how empty the dedicated aftermarket is for this generation. Frame-cut printed sets are $110.

Is the new Amarok the same as a Ranger for flaps?+

Under the skin, yes — the 2023+ Amarok shares the Ranger platform, and both are tubs. Frames on either; the badge doesn't change the fitment.

What about my first-gen single cab with a tray?+

Tray sizing applies: 4x4 on stock tyres takes 270×300mm on steel/factory guards or 300×280mm on alloy tray builds ($115); 4x2 takes 235×255mm ($90). Measure inside the guard first.

I'm running bigger tyres — will flaps still cover?+

On a tub, the frame's adjustable 205–255mm drop covers lifts and bigger rubber — which matters, because owners groups confirm nothing off the shelf serves wide-tyre new-gen Amaroks. Tray builds on 33s+ step up to 300×350mm steel or 350×450mm alloy.
