Since Holden shut up shop in 2020, genuine Colorado flaps have become a scavenger hunt: new-old-stock through parts resellers while it lasts, or a wrecker charging around $55 for someone else's worn rubber. When the part number's discontinued, the smart move is gear that fits by measurement instead — which is how Flappies have always worked.
Crew-cab pickup with a tub? There's no flat guard face behind the rear wheels — those factory flaps bolt up inside the arch — so tubs run the Flappie Frame: 300mm wide, adjustable 205–255mm drop, hung off the body. Frames are $100 a pair, printed frame-cut sets $110, and it doesn't care what year Holden stamped on the build plate.
Tray-back Colorados — the sizing still works like new
Trays are aftermarket anyway, so Holden's exit changed nothing back there. Flaps bolt inside the tray guards, sized like this: 4x2, 235×255mm, $90 a set. 4x4 on stock tyres: 270×300mm for steel or factory-style guards, 300×280mm for alloy trays — $115 either way. On 33s and up: 300×350mm steel ($145) or 350×450mm alloy ($225).
Got the wagon of the family — a Colorado 7 or Trailblazer? That's frames territory too: no tray, no tub, same 300mm frame with the adjustable drop, designs swappable whenever.
Owners groups keep asking whether RC and RG factory flaps interchange — short answer, not cleanly, and nobody's making it easier now Holden's gone.
