Fit & sizing

Will Flappies fit my vehicle?+
Almost certainly — every ride is just a little different. The fastest way is the size finder. Old-school way: on tray-back utes, measure the width inside the guard so the flap follows its shape, then pick your preferred length. For tubs, wagons and most 4WDs, our Flappie Frames suit a huge range of vehicles and make swapping designs easy. Unsure? Message us before ordering.
What sizes do you make?+
Eight, from 235×255mm up to 350×450mm — plus the adjustable Flappie Frame (300mm wide) and a dedicated Jimny Flappie Frame (220mm wide), because Jimnys deserve nice things too.
What's a Flappie Frame?+
A universal mounting bracket ($100) that adjusts to suit vehicles without a standard mounting spot — and once it's on, you can swap Flappies designs whenever you like. One rig, many personalities.
Do Flappies fit caravans, campers and trailers?+
Yep — every set is designed in Australia to suit utes, 4x4s, caravans and trailers. Caravans and box trailers usually take a standard size straight onto the guard; measure the width inside the guard and pick a length that gives the coverage you want. Towing something precious? Bigger flaps mean fewer stones reaching whatever's behind you.
What about Jimnys?+
Jimnys get their own gear: the Jimny Flappie Frame (220mm wide, adjustable 215–250mm drop). Bolt the frames on once, then swap designs whenever the mood strikes. The Jimny crowd are some of our favourite customers — tiny rig, huge personality.
Are mudflaps a legal requirement in Australia?+

Every wheel needs an effective mudguard, and on tray-body utes mudflaps usually form part of that wheelguard system — so yes, for most tray backs they're required, not just a good look. Rule of thumb from the light-vehicle standards: the lowest edge of the guard (flap included) should sit no higher than one third of the horizontal distance back to the centre of the rear axle. Rules vary a little state to state, so check yours if you're cutting it fine.

The gear

Do mudflaps actually protect your car?+
They do real work. Flaps catch the stones, mud and spray your tyres fling up — that's less stone-chipped paint and fewer cracked windscreens for whoever's behind you, less crud up the sides of your tray, canopy or caravan, and a rig that hoses off easier after the beach or the bush. The custom artwork is just the excuse.
How do I install Flappies?+
Flap sets come with nuts, bolts and washers, and it's a spanner-and-ten-minutes job: line the flap up inside the guard, mark your holes, bolt it on. Running Flappie Frames? Fit the frames once, then designs clip in and out in minutes — no drilling every time you change your mind. One heads up: the frames themselves don't come with mounting hardware, because every rig mounts differently — one ute reuses its factory screws, the next needs a quick Bunnings run.
How do I look after them?+
You don't, really — that's the point. Heavy-duty flap material with UV-stable print shrugs off mud, rocks, salt and sun. If they're filthy enough that you miss the artwork, a hose or a quick scrub brings them back. No polishing, no babying.

Orders & shipping

How long does it take?+
Standard Print & Shipping: printed and dispatched within 7 business days. Priority Print & Express: your order jumps the queue and is out the door within 2 business days. Delivery from there depends on where you are — tracking on every order either way.
What about returns?+
Everything's made to order, so choose carefully — we can't take returns for change of mind, wrong size (use the size finder!) or minor print-tone variation. Screens show colour in RGB, prints come out in CMYK — tiny differences are normal, not defects. Custom and personalised sets are non-returnable unless they arrive faulty or incorrect — in which case we'll absolutely sort you out.
Do you ship outside Australia?+
Sure do — shipping is calculated at checkout for your address, with tracking on every order. Printed by hand in Australia, flogged internationally.

Hard-hitting journalism

Can Flappies sense fear?+
Only in people running stock mudflaps.
Can Flappies survive the apocalypse?+
Unconfirmed. But they'll definitely outlast cheap plastic flaps and bumper stickers.
