No tray, no tub — Jimnys run their own frame

Here's the Jimny problem: sized flaps are a tray game, and a Jimny doesn't have one. It's a wagon with bolt-on plastic flares and not much flat metal behind the wheel, so even our standard 300mm frame is too wide for the body. That's why the Jimny Flappie Frame exists — 220mm wide with an adjustable 215–250mm drop, sized for Jimny arches specifically.

Bolt the frames on once, and any frame-cut Flappies design slides straight in. New design later? Swap it in minutes — no more unbolting flaps. $100 for the pair of frames, $110 for a printed set, $210 all up. For reference, genuine plain-black Jimny flaps run north of $220 a pair before anyone's picked up a spanner.

3-door or 5-door XL — same answer

The XL stretched the wheelbase, not the arches, so both run the same 220mm frame. Older-shape Jimnys are the same story smaller again — the adjustable drop absorbs the difference. Heavily modified or just not sure? Send us a photo and we'll confirm before you order.

And yes, it's worth doing: short wheelbase plus a spare on the back door means whatever the rears don't catch ends up plastered across your spare-wheel cover. On gravel in convoy, mud flaps are basic courtesy — the windscreen behind you sends its regards.

Fair warning from the Jimny crowd

Rears are the fiddly corner. Running a towbar? The brackets and crush tubes fight for the same real estate behind the bumper, and an aftermarket exhaust usually means trimming a flap. Frames ship without mounting hardware because every rig mounts differently — budget a Bunnings run, and if you get stuck, flick us a photo.

Jimny questions, answered

Do I need Flappie Frames for a Jimny?+

Yes — there's no tray or tub guard to bolt a sized flap into, so every Jimny order runs the Jimny Flappie Frame (220mm wide, 215–250mm adjustable drop, $100 a pair). Frames on once, designs swap forever.

Same frame for the 3-door and the 5-door XL?+

Same frame. The XL added 340mm of wheelbase, not wider arches — and the frame's adjustable drop handles the rest. The size finder lists "Jimny 5-door" separately just so we know what you're driving.

What's the install actually like?+

Fronts are straightforward. Rears take patience on any brand — towbars and exhausts get in the way, and hardware is BYO because every rig mounts differently. It's a one-time job: once the frames are on, swapping designs takes minutes.

Why not just the genuine Suzuki flaps?+

Genuine flaps are plain black and run north of $220 a pair. Frames plus a printed Flappies set is $210 all up, with actual artwork on the back of your rig — and when you want a new look, you swap the design instead of buying flaps again.
