The 205–255mm adjustable drop covers touring lifts, and a wide flap is exactly what the stone-flap crowd buys — confirm your year in the checker.

Every Prado ever made runs the same setup

The Prado has never had a tray or a tub — it's been a wagon since day one, which means there's no guard face for a bolt-in sized flap and never was. What every generation gets instead is the Flappie Frame: 300mm wide with a 205–255mm adjustable drop, hung off the body. $100 a pair, printed frame-cut sets $110, designs swappable in minutes.

And "every generation" is the point. Moulded flap kits are locked to one series — some even sell separate with-flares and without-flares versions of the same product. The frame doesn't care whether you're in a 90, 120, 150 or the new 250: it was fitting the newest Prado the day it landed, no waiting for anyone to tool up a mould.

Towing a van? This is caravan paint insurance

Prado owners literally invented a product category out of this problem — there's a whole cottage industry selling oversized "stone flaps" because the factory mouldings do nothing to stop the rear wheels sandblasting the front of a caravan. Wider and longer is what the towing crowd asks for in their own words, and a wide flap on an adjustable drop is exactly that — with a design on it instead of another slab of black poly.

Lifted for touring? The 205–255mm adjustable drop soaks it up — no size change, no new SKU, no drama.

Fair warning from the Prado crowd

Shopping around, you'll notice fixed moulded kits are hostage to your exact setup — split by generation, split again by flare shape. Buy the wrong variant and it's a return-postage argument. Frames hang off the body with BYO hardware, so flares and model years mostly stop mattering. Odd setup you're not sure about? Send us a photo.

Prado questions, answered

Do Flappies fit a Prado?+

Yes — every Prado is a wagon, so they all run the Flappie Frame: 300mm wide, 205–255mm adjustable drop, $100 a pair with $110 printed frame-cut sets. Same answer for the 90, 120, 150 and the new 250.

I tow a caravan — will these stop stone damage?+

A wide, long flap behind the rear wheels is the standard stone-protection move — Prado owners already buy oversized poly flaps for exactly this. Frames give you the coverage with a printed design instead of plain black.

My Prado has flares or a lift — does that change anything?+

No. Fixed moulded kits split their SKUs by flare shape; the frame hangs off the body, and its 205–255mm drop adjusts, so flares and moderate lifts don't change the order.

New 250 Series — does anything fit yet?+

Yes — frames aren't model-year-specific, so the 250 was covered from the day it landed. No waiting for the aftermarket to catch up.
